Ramillies Hall School and Nursery

Ramillies Hall

School & Nursery

Admissions

Nursery

Ramillies Hall nursery can accept children any time throughout the year, subject to places within the age group.

When starting with us, parents and children are invited in for a pre-entry visit, and a programme of settling in sessions will be arranged.  We try to organise these over a period of a month and at different times of the day so that children can experience the various routines.

Please come and visit our nursery, meet our staff and ask any questions, we would love to meet you.

Junior

Ramillies Hall School is a non-selective school and pupils can join at any time throughout the academic year, providing there is adequate places within the year group.  We welcome children with a wide range of abilities, and our pupils access the national curriculum within a supportive environment and in small classes.

All admissions are considered on an individual basis to ensure the needs of the pupil can be met prior to entry.  Our aim is to ensure every child fulfils their potential, through a tailored and child-centred approach to education, as well as a nurturing environment. There are no entrance exams for admission to Ramillies Hall School.

Following an informal meeting between the parents and the Headteacher, every child will be invited to ‘taster days’ to take part in every day school life, for as many days as necessary. This allows us to recognise the individual’s abilities, learning styles and their needs, to allow us to generate a plan for every child.  It also allows both the parent and the child the chance to ensure that they are happy with the school before signing up.  We believe that unless a child is happy, they will not learn.

The School is able to support children with Specific Learning Difficulties, Social and Communication and Speech and Language Difficulties. An offer of a place at school is made based on best endeavours to ensure that the School has the expertise and resources available to meet all pupils’ needs and to enable all pupils to access their curriculum and make progress.

Parents are always welcome to visit the school, and the School Administrator will be happy to book an appointment for you to have a tour of the school and to meet with the Headteacher or other school staff.

School Admissions Procedure:

  • During an initial telephone enquiry our School Administrator will ask for basic information, such as your child’s name, date of birth, previous schooling, SEN, your contact details, etc.  and a tour of the school will be arranged, and a meeting scheduled with the Headteacher or Director of Studies.
  • If after your meeting and tour of the school, the Headteachers and SENDCO believe that the school may be able to meet your child’s individual needs, then your son/daughter will be invited to complete several taster days and you will be asked for relevant documentation (such as School Reports, ECHP’s etc.)
  • The ‘taster days’ are an opportunity for your child to experience the daily routines and environment of Ramillies whilst also allowing staff to assess their needs and abilities.  Your son/daughter will be made to feel very welcome during their ‘taster days’ and will be “buddied” with a pupil who will support them during their stay.
  • On completion of the taster days, the SENDCO and Headteacher will again review the application to determine whether a place can be offered.  In certain circumstances, a probationary period may be set to allow for further assessment. You will be given detailed feedback by the Form Teacher and senior staff members.
  • Any offers will be made by the Headteacher and will be confirmed in writing. Your child may start as soon as the entrance form is completed, and the registration fee and first term’s fees are paid in full.
  • Offers may be conditional upon appropriate funding being agreed by the LA, or parents, to provide any support packages the school deems necessary to meet the pupil’s needs.

You have the right to appeal against an unsuccessful application using the school's Complaints Procedure
